Personality: Shimaru is truly evil, cunning, and sadistic.

Skills/Abilities: Shimaru only has the ability to use Fire techniques. Shimaru has a hidden 3rd eye that when opened, increases his powers of Yin-Yang manipulation. He can use Yin-Yang manipulation to change the nature of the fire or control its movement, and can also take control of fire used against him making him impervious to fire altogether.

History: Shimaru Shikatano was the founder of the Shikatano Clan which at first had a boom of power, but then rapidly died out. After Shimaru's death, surviving members of the Shikatano clan revived Shimaru as a demonic spirit. Shimaru himself was not evil in any way, but his struggles in life and his death had made him disturbed, maybe even psychotic, and sadistic. However, Shimaru's demonic form was incredibly unstable so the surviving clan members decided to seal his spirit into a host every so often. Years passed and there were several hosts. Fiinally, when Shosuke and his father were the only two surviving members left, Shosuke's father took Shimaru out of himself and sealed him into Shosuke.

Shimaru now acts as a father figure to Shosuke and teaches him lessons of life, being able to communicate with him telepathically. The two of them are more upset and misunderstood than they are evil, but they are seen as evil or cruel by many. So Shosuke usually keeps Shimaru hidden and Shimaru agrees with this way of living.

Shimaru is currently sealed within Shosuke, but Shoshuke is able to bring Shimaru out at will. When he does this, he has control over Shimaru's body with Shimaru as a guiding voice in his head. If he wanted to, Shosuke could let Shimaru take over and use his own body. This exchange of power could only happen for approximately five minutes and after that the transformation would end and Shosuke would return to normal.

UPDATE on History:

Shimaru originally had an ultimate plan for destruction of the ninja world as we know it. However, rather than just destruction of the system and world conquest, Shimaru had a peace-oriented idea. Using a special characteristic of the Shadow Element, he could blind his victims in certain ways. He could impair his victim's eyesight to the point they were completely blind. Or he could cut off another one his victim's senses: taste, touch, hearing, smell. After meditation and experimenting on other victims, Shimaru found that when used a certain way and with a vest amount of chakra, he could use the Shadow Element to make his victims blind to their chakra; he could get rid of his victim's chakra awareness and usability.

Shimaru came to the conclusion that chakra awareness and chakra manipulation were the reason for the chaos and destruction in the world. At the cost of his own life, Shimaru planned to envelop the world in a shadow that would rid everyone of their ability to manipulate chakra and perform any sort of ninjustu, genjutsu, or special taijutsu all together to the point where everyone was a normal human being and spirits, summons, demons, and other supernatural things did not reside on the human plane of existence.

With all chakra manipulation and supernatural beings gone, there would be no wars that could be won by gaining a vast power source contained in a great beast with multiple tails; no elite beings with an inherited trait that gave them a power over everyone else; no walking on water; no animal and knife summonings; no fire-breathing; nothing. Just normal people who would have to solve their problems with diplomacy or fists.

Shimaru's plan was going to go perfectly. He had set up a sanctuary on top of the highest peak in what is now Kumogakure, the perfect setting for him to use his technique and bring peace to the world. However, he was stopped by his exact opposite; his arch rival; the light to his shadow: Tomo Yajin, Kazuki and Hoshimaru's ancestor. Tomo was the first of the Yajin bloodline to master the Light Element and Fire and Lightning as his secondary elements. With his Light, Tomo was able to match and then overpower Shimaru's Shadow and defeat him.

In an epic battle, both Shimaru and Tomo were fatally wounded. Tomo was taken in by the nearby folks and died in their care and Shimaru's followers took him back to their base in what is now Kirigakure. While the rest of Tomo's family relocated in Konohagakure, Shimaru refused to die a slow and painful death. He had his clan remove his spirit and seal it inside a special container for the next 6 years.

The clan promised to keep the plans alive, but after the clan began to die out because of assassinations because their ideals were seen as evil, they lost track of the master plan. When the six years was over, they released Shimaru's spirit from the container and sealed it within the current leader. Shimaru's spirit was able to speak though its host and was able to transform the host into a likeness of itself: a demonic-looking flaming body with horns and three eyes, the third one usually remaining closed and only opening when releasing a great amount of power for a devastating attack.

The only drawback to this plan was that Shimaru had lost all his memory of his plans and the extent of his power. Ever since then, Shimaru has gone from host to host regaining little bits of memory back, but by the time he got to Shosuke's body, Shimaru has regained all his memory except for his ultimate plan and the final battle between himself and Tomo.

As of now, Shosuke is Shimaru's host and they are close to discovering what Shimaru's ultimate plan was and the only thing standing in their way is the remaining Light users, Kazuki and Hoshimaru Yajin.
