I got really bored and ended up typing this all up last night. No, this has nothing to do with Naruto, more of life. My friends and I talk about this occasionally, and now I'm curious as to what everyone else thinks. Please read and answer, or comment, something. I really want to know what everyone's view is.
(FTW, Ippanseikatsu means "Everyday life")
And if you would, please interpret this:
Are we so afraid of the dark
that we will constantly be blinded by the light?
My interpretation:
(FTW, Ippanseikatsu means "Everyday life")
- Spoiler:
- The key to peace is to simply learn to understand others, for war is only fought because of the differences between two people that do not understand one another. Humans are incapable of ever truly being peaceful as humans will fight to protect their thoughts, their ideals, their beliefs. Those who learn that they must put aside their differences and learn to understand one another will the ones who bring about peace and end war.
- Society creates a person. “He had come into this world with a twisted body and a brute intelligence. This had constituted the clay of him, and it had not been kindly molded by the world.” --Jack London. A person is born into this world as a soft piece of un-molded clay. As they grow up, society slowly shapes this clay. Once they have finished growing, this clay will have taken a form and hardened. Each and every single action, no matter how big or small it is, shapes this piece of clay, and in doing so shaping this person. Shaping their thoughts, their actions, their personality, everything. Thus you get the Golden Rule.
- Humans are higher than animals, and why is that? It is because we can think for ourselves and act upon our own actions. We are not mindless creatures that act upon instinct and orders, but as the ages go by, it seems as if humans are slowly degrading into animals. Humans can no longer think for themselves and act upon their own actions, instead they follow the rules of the media, doing and thinking of what the media tells them to do.
“Humans fear the dark, for in the dark we are our true selves, are we so afraid of the dark that we will constantly be blinded by the light?” Humans never show who they really are, always on the surface, the outside, they appear as someone else, when on the inside they are completely different. Within each and ever single human is a fear that their true self will be revealed, thus they are blinded and act as everyone else does. This so called “perfect person” is the image all humans strive to be, when on the inside they are the complete opposite of this “perfect person”, but as they fear that their ideas, their thoughts, their beliefs, go against that of others they hide in the dark. In the dark where no one can see them, they finally unfurl their wings and show who they really are, but no one is there to see this magnificent change, only they are there. Alone and in the dark we are our true selves, but when the light of the day comes around, we let ourselves fade away into the light. - “The children of today are the leaders of tomorrow.” If that is so, then why does no one listen to the children? The children are not as naive as one thinks they are. Children are quite capable of thinking for themselves and often have different views of life and the world. Should the leaders of today listen to the leaders of tomorrow, perhaps they will finally receive the answers that they seek, but alas, none shall ever partake of this idea. The leaders of tomorrow will always be ignored until they have grown up and these once great ideals will have disappeared into nothingness and thus the leaders of tomorrow will forgot of their original thoughts and ideas, becoming the leaders of today and not listening to the leaders of tomorrow.
- "‘You are, I gather, not unintelligent, but painfully limited. Narrow. Close-minded.’" -J. K. Rowling. Though the people of today are more intelligent than ever, that intelligence is useless when one’s mind is closed off to new ideas. One’s mind must always be open to new ideas and speak of it without judgment, taking it in as it truly existed if one is to be considered truly intelligent. “‘Well, how can that be real?’ ‘Prove that it is not,’ said Xenophilius.” --J. K. Rowling. That is true enough. If you can not prove that it is not real, than how can you say that it does not exist? Even so, if you say “If I can’t prove that it exists, how can it exist?” there is still that possibility that it could exist. And so long as it could, it exists until proven wrong. “The grass is orange.” You say that it is impossible, but is it? Not necessarily. You may say that grass is green, but I didn’t say where; therefore, grass could be orange on another planet. And so you say “But there is no other plant that can support life!”. But once more, you can not prove that such a planet does not exist. One’s mind must always be open to new ideas, and that is what truly makes one intelligent: being able to take in any situation and “prove” that it exists. And so we arrive at the problem of today’s society: everyone takes in everything too literally. Gone are the imaginations of yesterday. Gone are the creativity of yesteryear. Your eyes must be open to the all the possibilities, your mind unlocked and free to roam.

Humans are incapable of ever truly being peaceful as humans will fight to protect their thoughts, their ideals, their beliefs. Those who learn that they must put aside their differences and learn to understand one another will the ones who bring about peace and end war.
- What brings about peace? How?
- What creates a person (mentally)? How?
- Are we human or animals? Why?
- Should the leaders of the world listen to children/teens? Why?
- Do humans take things in too literally? Why?
And if you would, please interpret this:
Are we so afraid of the dark
that we will constantly be blinded by the light?
My interpretation:
- Spoiler:
- The dark represents the unknown, our fears, and who we really are. We are afraid of the dark, and so in the light we pretend to be something else, someone else. And the longer we pretend, the more we begin to believe in that and the darkness increases ever more. The temptation to return to the darkness is stronger than ever, but the light seems more appealing than the dark, even if it is causing us more harm than good. For the sake of being accepted and liked, we let ourselves be blinded by the light of day and at night when we are alone, we change. We change into who and what we really are, letting all our stress fade away, finally at home and at peace, but when it is time to return to the world, to our dishonest and ever lying life, we change yet again. We change into that happy, carefree, friendly person who fits in with everyone and is accepted by everyone, when deep down we are all suffering and burning away. And still, despite all the pain, we keep up that guise, all because we want to be accepted, to be loved, to be liked.
But not everyone can keep it up for long, and those that can’t become shunned and hated, an outcast. They live out their lives alone, wishing they had keep up that guise and be loved and liked once more. They live in the dark and struggle to return to the light, and those that return focus on staying in the light, giving up their friends, their family, their ideals, their thoughts, everything, just to fit in and stay with the “it crowd”.
Then there are those who realize that their life of lies wasn’t worth it and reform. They then turn to the dark and gladly embrace it, becoming who they were meant to be, and with that darkness comes a lifetime of friends and happiness, for they have finally found their place in life and no longer have to live off of lies. And those who are blind by the light will wonder how they can possibly be happy and content with their new lives. Those who have embraced the dark will understand them and accept them, congratulating them for finally understanding that the dark is not as bad is made out to be.
And greater yet are the ones who have always realized this and lived by it their whole life, having fully embraced the dark. Those who have embraced the dark are the ones enjoying all the luxuries of life, surrounded by friends and happiness, loved and accepted. They are the ones who can truly live life out to its fullest and without regrets. And strangely enough, these are the people who the light strives to become, when all they have to do succumb to their fear of the darkness.
But worse of all are those who have blinded by the light for so long that they begin to lose all hope and have forgotten who they are, the darkness having been completely wiped out by the light. It is saddening, but always there are those who will have been blinded by the light and can not be saved by the dark. They end their own lives, never truly understanding what life is about, not realizing that life is a gift and not a right. And with their deaths, the light begins to fear for their own safety and drive themselves ever harder to remain in the light, rather than become one with the darkness without embracing it, which is completely impossible; one can not be one with the darkness without first embracing it.

Re: Ippanseikatsu
Well ill do the guestions later but the interpretation:
The "dark" in my eyes is the truth and what we should do that have been hidden from people's eyes through the "Light".
The light in my view is a few things. Its the lies we see everyday placed on by ourselfs and other people to try and make ourselves feel like were doing something good or to make ourselves feel better. It can also be what we put above all else like self centered people put themselves or how some people put work or love or plain fun before what should be done or what needs to be done or we die. We are blinded by money greed lust or power all "sins" that people say we must not commit yet even those people who say we musn't do perform these sins. Its the foundation of soceity to look out for yourself before anyone else. And then for some cased put other people before themselvs causing themselves to become nothing but a figment unable to do anything.
However that is the building blocks of soceity so without that we are basicly put into chaos so basicly we are so far in our own As s's that we cant see when we need to pull out and fix ourselves before we die from breathing in our own gas.

Are we human or animals? Why?
Should the leaders of the world listen to children/teens? Why?
What brings about peace? How?
- Spoiler:
- Generally, we are animals. All of us are, whether you like it or not. We're just a little more intellegent then the rest of the animal race. But to be quite specific, yes. We are humans.
Should the leaders of the world listen to children/teens? Why?
- Spoiler:
- NO. I know that is hard for most teenagers to hear, but just NO. I am a teenager myself, and if I knew everyone else the way I know myself, i've had some pretty fucked up ideas on how the world should be run. Of course, there are those occasional teenagers/children who have the greatest ideas in the world. Teenagers and children tend to look at there own lifes, and the lifes of a couple others around them and say to themselves, "It would be so much better if things were like this.. or like that. It would be so much better if the money from the rich went to the poor, then everything would be equal." First of all, the rich ass presidents and senators would never allow that. The rich people wouldn't much like that either. They would start protesting, and eventually start rebelling. It could lead to a civil war II. And then after all that, there will be more people beoming more and more rich.
That's just an example, it may be worded wrong. But the point I was trying to get across is, usually children don't think things all the way through. They don't think of every single outcome of their solution. Teenagers are a little bit different. Noone could get one straight opinion from teenagers in general, because there is probably thousands of different opinions of how the world should be run, a large majority of those probably being crazy and murderous. I live in a middle class family, so I can't speak for poor or homeless people when I say this, but when I take a look at the way life is running right now, and I put everything into concept: every outcome, every solution, every lifestyle... It seems like the world is doing the best it can be doing. Talking about the greed of political leaders interfering their choices of doing what's right for their countries is getting off topic, but it's something to consider when thinking about how the world is being run right now. More nukes, more power, more land. That's what the political leaders mostly want today, or so it seems. And their are some teenagers who believe in that also. Actually, teenagers usually just get their political views from their parents, and I know that some of you don't, but a lot probably do. Their are too many opinions on how the world should be run, especially from teenagers, to choose just one.
What brings about peace? How?
- Spoiler:
- Nothing can bring about worldpeace. Nothing. But peace can be brought around the truces, agreements, the end of war, and whole bunch of other things. But peace all across the world will never be acomplished as long as we are here. Humans aren't perfect, he have different opinions, views, and so on and so forth, that will keep us fighting until we all die. It seems as though we will never be able to look past the fact that someone else has a different religion, a different political view, or a different ethnicity. I will end this one with a quote from einstein.
“So long as there are men there will be wars”

Re: Ippanseikatsu
I was asked to answer this with full thought so I shall. Here goes.
What brings about peace? How?
What creates a person (mentally)? How?
Are we human or animals? Why?
Should the leaders of the world listen to children/teens? Why?
Do humans take things in too literally? Why?
Are we so afraid of the dark
that we will constantly be blinded by the light?
I liked everyones long descriptions on how the interpreted it but mine is a bit more......
What brings about peace? How?
- Spoiler:
- Nothing. Chaos reigns supreme in this univers. Look around you. What do you see. I mean litteraly look around. Are you truly at peace even with in your self? I doubt it. Some may be more at peace than others, but no one other than those who devote themselves to philosophical teachings can be truly at peace with in themselves. And even then I am willing to bet there is at least one mental war going on in that amazing brain of theirs. I dont believe that even Confusious himself was ever at complete 100% peace wthin himself. Now I say to you. If we can not achieve complete peace with in ourselves, how can we achieve absoloute peace with in the world. We cant. How can the whole work if the parts are faulty. Yes I just said humans are faulty. Everylast one of us and this is an ideal that all need to start waking up and embracing as a truth.
What creates a person (mentally)? How?
- Spoiler:
- I only have one thing to add on this. Nurture vs Nature, one of the great debates, right along with eveloution vs creationism etc etc. I vote Nurture all the way, though I know that nature also plays apart. However, Nurture will always play a greater role.
Are we human or animals? Why?
- Spoiler:
- We are animals, the term human is nothing more than a label, another way to seperate and distinguish differences and to try and establish further our sense of self importance. We are no better or worse than other animals. Everything is ying and yang alright. I am honestly sick with my own species ideals. Such as the fact that we think we have the right control the population of other species when we ourselves are one of the most over populated species on the planet. Can anyone explain this? I can. Our sense of self importance. Thats all it is. That is the key concept that supports our society.
Should the leaders of the world listen to children/teens? Why?
- Spoiler:
- To a certain extent. We are people too and yes we can have great ideas. However our thought are often abstract and incomplete, but that does not mean that our thoughts should not be taken into consideration. The act of listening is only observing what soemone else has to say. It does not mean that you will necessarily act upon it. Do I think a teenagers voice should be heard. Yes. Do I think everything teens say or think or believe should be what affects the final decision? Hell no.
Do humans take things in too literally? Why?
- Spoiler:
- Yes. You ask why? Simple. We are too self absorbed. Things are taken in as perspective and everything can and is percieved in more than one way. Our world is so diverse that this is law. It is undeniable. How one person takes something will be different at least slightly than everyone elses views. This is what leads to people taking things to literaly. Something meant to be not litteral or real can be percieved by another as real and litteral.
Are we so afraid of the dark
that we will constantly be blinded by the light?
I liked everyones long descriptions on how the interpreted it but mine is a bit more......
- Spoiler:
- .....Simple. We are so afraid of what we do not know or what we do not wish to know that we will blind ourselves with the good, whether it be true or not, just to avoid it. Fear rules us greatly. It can control your action more than almost any emotion. It is second only to anger and hate.

What creates a person (mentally)? How?
Sorry, I couldnt really come up with an answer for the other ones.
- Spoiler:
- Nothing can really bring true peace to the world. Even if peace has to do with friendship and understanding, no one can truely trust and understand one another. We all have our differences, and thats okay. But sometimes, those differences will lead to arguements and disagreements. The only true peace, is solitude.
What creates a person (mentally)? How?
- Spoiler:
- I believe that people are created by past experiances and general teachings. Say a little girl was raped as a child by an older man, she would be shaped as a very shy, maybe avoid men as she grows up. If a little boy was tought to be mannerly by his parents, then he would be shaped as a gentleman as he grows up. We are all created by time and events that occur in our life. Good or bad experiances, we are all made from them.
Sorry, I couldnt really come up with an answer for the other ones.
